Test Neon Bastion
A roguelike tower defense. You are not the builder. You are the tower.
Neon Bastion is finished enough to play and not finished enough to release. It needs
people on real phones before it goes out, because so far it has been tested on almost none.
It is a single-player Android tower defense: one position to hold, a blessing chosen
after every wave, and permanent growth between runs. It plays offline, has no account,
no ads and nothing to buy.
Three steps
-
Join the tester group.
Open the Google Group and join it with the same Google
account you use on your phone. Google Play reads the membership list from this group,
so joining with a different account will not work.
-
Opt in on Google Play.
Open the tester link and accept the invitation.
You may need to wait a few minutes after joining the group.
-
Install and play.
The same link gives you a Play Store page to install from. Play a few runs
over the next couple of weeks and tell us what you find.
What helps most
You do not have to write a report. One honest message is worth more than a checklist.
The things we genuinely cannot find out without you:
- Your phone model, and whether the game runs smoothly on it.
- Heat and frame rate, especially once your main weapon is upgraded
and the screen is busy. This is the specific thing we are trying to confirm.
- Where you got stuck or bored. Which stage, and what you tried.
- Anything confusing in the menus, the Memory map or the Forge.
- Crashes or lost progress, with roughly what you were doing.
Send it to floridaairborne@gmail.com
or post it in the group.
The honest small print
Google requires at least twelve testers to stay opted in continuously for
fourteen days before an app can apply for public release. If you leave the group early
the clock resets for your place, so if you would rather not commit, it is genuinely more
useful to say no than to join and drop out.
This is a volunteer playtest. There is no payment and nothing to buy, and we will never
ask you to click an advertisement. You can leave at any time by leaving the group and
uninstalling. Your progress is stored on your own device; see
your data for how to remove it.
